Second Time Around

I wasn't very happy with my first attempts, but this time I got it right. Each hair piece was made to match the personality of my beautiful bridesmaids.

I can't believe the wedding and honeymoon are already over. It was such a wonderful time to spend with everyone I love. I'll show more pictures later, and try to do a better job at updating this thing!

Fancy Hair

So, I'm seeing that the use of Veils are beginning to be pushed out of the Wedding equation, and beautiful hair pieces are moving in. So many girls on etsy are making georgious hair pieces, but are also charging a pretty penny for their time and supplies that go into making these. Not that I now blame them. After searching through many beauties, I decided to try this out myself for my own wedding.

These are my first attempts.

After a little more practice, I will post the final products later!

Oh My Goodness!

I'm going to be a wife in a little over a week! I am so excited to be married to Brandon, but I have to admit that I'm also very excited about seeing friends that live so far away. It's going to be a wonderful reunion weekend for friends and family! And, the most memorable day of my life!

My friend from church, Amanda, was so sweet to take engagement pictures for us. I'm partial to the balloon, if you can't tell! Amanda will also be taking our Wedding photos.

Mates of State

Yesterday Brandon surprised me with Mates of State tickets. But dummy me forgot a camera to record this memorable event. They sounded amazing though, I'd say even better in person. And it doesn't hurt that they are just the cutest couple ever!

Things at the church are moving so fast. We were robbed about a month ago, but the bonus to that is I now have all new computer and visual equipment for children's church. I'll post pictures when it's complete. Back to work!

Curtains and Cupcakes

I was really anticipating this last weekend, I knew it would be very rainy and kind of cold. So, I was prepared. I have lots of projects going on right now, and I'm slowly finishing them. Brandon and I just got our new apartment (which I am not living in yet) and I'm trying to fix it up a bit before his family gets here for the wedding, and also so I will feel very comfortable when I move in with a boy for the first time.

My first project for the weekend were some super cute cafe-style curtains which were made out of target tablecloths. I don't have any pictures yet, but I will post them soon once the sun-room is complete.

We are also not having a cake at the wedding, so my mom and I have been practicing our cupcake making skills until we reach perfection for the big day! I have covered these cardboard cupcake stands with moss and flowers to try and give a bit of an earthy feel.

Oh! and I must share the cutest cake I've ever seen! My Matron of Honor, Cassandra, ordered the perfect cake for our bridal shower at the church. She took them a picture of Kurt Halseys artwork and they made a replica of it using icing! Amazing!

Alright, more projects soon to come! Have a wonderful evening!

Soon Beginnings

I didn't think that I would join the blogging world. I love to read blogs, and I have so many wedding blogs to thank for all the projects that I've been working on for my own wedding. In one month today, actually, I will become Mrs. Rachel Adams. There are so many exciting things happening right now that I need a place to display and talk about them. Even if no one really ever reads this (maybe Erin will appreciate it) it will be good for me I think.

I am a Children's Minister at my church in TX, and have almost completed my first year at a real "grown up" job. Everything has gone by so fast, it's exciting and maybe someday things will slow down so I can take time to appreciate all the blessings a little more. I've been so blessed this past year, and the Lord is doing so much even right now. I have an amazing Fiance who is the hardest worker I've ever met. My girlfriends mean the complete world to me, even though we're scattered throughout the U.S. now. And my church family is amazing and care about me so so much.

I'm glad I took the time to realize today that things really are good! Look beyond the stress in your life and take just a few to focus on the blessings.

Bless and be blessed, sweet dreams!
